This stretch of 14th Street rises high above Washington with spectacular views of downtown. Level 2 Development LLC and Centrum Properties Inc. of Chicago have joined to develop a nine-story mixed-use project known as View 14 at this location, with an additional condominium building, 2400 14th St., across the street.
SK&I Architectural Design Group of Bethesda has designed the building. The 275,000-square-foot View 14 project functions as a link between the Columbia Heights neighborhood and the U Street corridor, both of which have experienced growth and revitalization in recent years.
In addition, Level 2 secured an agreement with Comcast to remove the satellite receivers on the corner of 14th Street and Florida Avenue to improve the neighborhood appearance.
Level 2 plans to contribute to area organizations such as the Metropolitan Police Department Boys and Girls Club No. 10 on 14th Street and to the Children's Studio School at 13th and V streets Northwest.
View 14 will include street-level retail stores and restaurants and underground parking in addition to about 170 condominiums. The building will have floor-to-ceiling glass, angled bay windows and terraces to maximize exposure to the views of the city, particularly the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument.
Other building amenities will include a 20,000-square-foot fitness center, an observation deck, a green roof, a Zen garden and a Wi-Fi media study.
Inside, each of the homes includes a balcony or terrace, 9-foot ceilings, an angled bay window, bamboo flooring and a sleek, modern kitchen. Sales are expected to begin in late June, with prices ranging from the mid-$200,000s to the mid- $900,000s.
Monthly condominium fees start at $155 for a studio home, $180 for a one-bedroom home, $295 for a one-bedroom home with a den and $400 for a two-bedroom home.
The studio homes include a foyer entrance with an adjacent closet and a laundry room with a washer and dryer, plus an open kitchen with a breakfast bar.
